ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

Montessori School of Woodstock was opened in October 2000 by Mrs. Patricia Shahbazi. Mrs. Shahbazi is an AMI certified teacher with over 30 years of experience. She has taught at various Montessori schools in the metro Atlanta area including the well-respected Casa dei Bambini. Mrs. Shahbazi holds the following degrees and certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education
  • Georgia State Teaching Certificate for K-5
  • AMI Montessori Primary and Elementary Certification

Still excited about the Montessori Method after 30 years, Mrs. Shahbazi continues to teach Montessori because she loves to watch young minds absorb. She also continues in the Montessori tradition of encouraging both self-confidence and a life-long love of learning.

All of our teachers hold a Bachelor's Degree plus training and certification in the Montessori Method as well as several years of experience guiding students.

The Montessori method utilizes a unique approach to teaching children. Its methods teach children to trust themselves, enjoy learning, and fully explore their own potential.

This method is based on the observations and work of Maria Montessori (1870-1952). Maria, who was a certified engineer and the first woman in Italy to receive a medical degree, won a Nobel Peace prize for her work.
